Zelensky Takes a Break From War to Campaign for Biden-Harris in Pennsylvania on Your Tax Dollars

It looks like President Zelensky has decided to take a break from leading a war-torn country to join the Democrats on their U.S. election campaign trail. You can’t make this stuff up. In what feels like a clear case of foreign interference, Zelensky showed up in Pennsylvania, a battleground state, on a U.S. military plane, because apparently, that’s how we roll now. Of course, it wasn’t just any day in Scranton (Joe Biden’s birthplace, for those who haven’t been reminded enough). It was a day where Zelensky toured a military ammunition plant alongside Governor Josh Shapiro and other Democrats. Can we all just agree that using U.S. military assets for political photo ops is a bit much?

Zelensky’s visit, which conveniently came with lots of media coverage, seemed less about defending Ukraine and more about helping the Biden-Harris ticket. Sure, he’s out here signing bombs at a Scranton factory that produces artillery shells, but the timing of it all is what really raises eyebrows. He’s in a key swing state, during an election year, surrounded by Democrats—if it walks like a duck…

Former Republican Senate candidate Sean Parnell didn’t mince words when he called out this stunt at a Trump rally. He straight-up labeled it “foreign election interference.” He’s got a point. Zelensky has been cozying up to Democrats for a while, and this Pennsylvania trip was no different. And let’s not ignore the timing, just after the media published an interview where Zelensky took jabs at Donald Trump and his running mate, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio. Trump, as always, had made it clear he wanted this war in Ukraine to end, which apparently irked Zelensky.

In an interview, Zelensky brushed off Trump’s stance, implying the former president didn’t understand the complexity of the war. According to him, “The deeper you look, the less you understand.” Okay, Zelensky, we get it, you think you’re the only one who can solve this thing, but clearly, many Americans have a different perspective.

Zelensky didn’t just stop at Trump; he also took a swing at J.D. Vance. He called Vance’s plan to end the war “too radical” and accused him of nothing more than sloganeering. Yeah, because the American people wanting peace is such a radical concept. Zelensky even compared negotiating with Russia to appeasement before World War II. Look, no one’s denying that Putin’s a tyrant, but reducing any talks of peace to “sloganeering” is insulting.

Dan Caldwell from Defense Priorities also had something to say about the visit. He didn’t hesitate to point out that the Biden administration was using military resources—specifically a U.S. Air Force C-17—to fly Zelensky into Pennsylvania. It’s bad enough that billions of our taxpayer dollars have been sent to Ukraine, but now we’re using military assets for campaign ads? Come on.

And let’s talk about Zelensky’s quotes from the media interview, where he subtly criticized world leaders (Trump included) for wanting to establish working relationships with Putin. Zelensky called them out for “flirting” with the Russian leader and implied that they were playing games. What’s hilarious is that Zelensky himself said Ukraine shouldn’t get wrapped up in American domestic politics…while literally being part of it!

During this Pennsylvania trip, Zelensky also made a stop at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant, which produces 155-millimeter artillery shells, among other military hardware. The U.S. has already shipped 3 million of these shells to Ukraine, with more on the way. At this point, it feels like we’re funding his entire military effort. Zelensky, of course, was all praise for the plant workers, probably hoping that the next shipment would include the longer-range missiles he’s been demanding. For now, the Biden administration has held off, but let’s see how long that lasts.

As Zelensky wraps up his Pennsylvania tour, he’s heading to the U.N. General Assembly in New York and then to Washington, D.C., to meet with—you guessed it—President Biden and Vice President Harris. You can bet he’ll be asking for more military assistance, as if the $56 billion we’ve already sent isn’t enough. By the way, this is just a fraction of the total $106 billion that’s been poured into Ukraine by about 50 other countries.

So, what’s the takeaway here? Zelensky is actively inserting himself into U.S. politics under the guise of seeking more aid, all while publicly attacking prominent Republicans like Trump and Vance. The Biden-Harris administration is happily playing along, using American military resources to bolster their political game in key battleground states. And while the Ukrainian people continue to suffer from the war, their leader is here on a campaign trail, aligning with the Democrats. If this isn’t a glaring example of foreign interference, then what is?
